今奇的简介

1936年7月生于河北省雄县
1979年任中国画与哲学研究会主席
1981年任中华大学艺术系主任，中央新闻出品纪录电影制片厂《画猫》（“祖国新貌”）
1984 年 中央电视台《曹今奇画猫》（“人物述林”）
1988 年 中央新闻纪录电影制片厂《曹今奇画猫》（“今日中国” ）等
1982 – 1989年任北京外交人员教学中心专家、教授，曾先后为十八个欧亚国家的外交官,讲授中国书画艺术及先秦诸子哲理。今奇的艺术活动曾被众多中外媒体报道。如《人民日报》 《世界日报》《亚利桑那共和报》和多家电视台，以及欧洲一些国家和日本的新闻媒体都曾报道过曹今奇和“今奇猫”
1990年移居美国
1991年在美国亚洲桑那州首府创立中华书画研究院任首届院长。传略收入《北美华裔艺术家名人录》、《世界华人美术名家年鉴》等
2003 年 被世界华人书画艺术家联合会聘为名誉主席

1982-1989 Professor at Beijing Education Center for Foreign Embassies, taught Chinese painting and Ancient Chinese Philosophy to foreign diplomats from 18 countries. Jinqi’s effort of promoting Chinese art has been appraised by many newspapers and TV stations worldwide，including People’s Daily; People’s Daily Overseasa and World Daily; Arizona Republic, Arizona local television stations; and news and media in Europe and Japan.

1991 Organized and established Institute of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting
2003 Honorary chairman for “International Association of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artists.”

 

 

今奇的艺术实践

今奇的艺术思想是在特殊的境遇中孕育而生。他强调个性，认为个性是对传统艺术的变化，修正，扬弃，甚至是叛逆。

他认为艺术与哲学是一体：哲学中有艺术，艺术中有哲学。他有一方印章，上刻：“我是老师，我是统帅，我是上帝。”

今奇在艺术上最突出的胆识是：“六亲不认” “我行我素” “神书，好戏，妙在假” “平不平，不平平”。几位精通中华文化的外交使节曾因此语而震惊。今奇也因此赢得了外国友人的敬重。

 

 

Jingqi’s Viewpoints of Art

 Jinqi’s art style was created and developed under a specific environment.  His unique art style emphasizes individualism, which is a variation, a revision, filtration and the result might even contrary to the traditional regulations or beliefs.

 Jinqi believes that art and philosophy are one unity.  The art is within the philosophy and the philosophy is reflected in the artworks.  He has a stamp that reads “I am the teacher, I am the leader, and I am the superman.”

 Jinqi has made some courageous statements: “Fear of no authority”, because in the world of art, there is no authority. Several diplomats from foreign embassies in Beijing were very surprised and impressed by these statements.  For that, Jinqi earned great respect from these friends.
